The Idaho Psychological Association (IPA) is a largely volunteer-based, 501(c)6 non-profit organization that consists of licensed psychologists working in professional and academic settings, psychology students, and others interested in psychology and the mental health field. IPA strives to provide high-quality professional education and services to members and legislative involvement to promote the health and well-being of our community.

First, a summary of the limited research on ASD in adults will be presented, with a focus on assessment methods and the concept of neurodiversity. Next, a proposed assessment model, based on the first author’s work over the past five years (Mapou, 2023) will be presented. Third, differential diagnoses and comorbidities of ASD will be covered. Suggestions for screening the increased number of individuals who have self-diagnosed will be included. Beginning with current prevalence data, relevant diagnostic characteristics, and evolving conceptualizations of autism (e.g., gender diversity, sensory sensitivities, repetitive behaviors, masking), the presentation discusses the rationale for a contemporary, neuroaffirming framework. Attendees will learn practical adaptations to support autistic clients, explore when referral for diagnostic clarity or specialist services may be warranted, and review specific clinical practices grounded in CBT and DBT, along with the evidence supporting them. Learning objectives & instructional level

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

	Dr. Robb Mapou is an ABPP board-certified clinical neuropsychologist practicing in Rehoboth Beach, DE and Chevy Chase, MD. He is now semi-retired but has specialized in the evaluation of older adolescents and adults with neurodevelopmental disorder, as well as adults with neurological conditions. Dr. Mapou has been completing evaluations for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) since 2009 and was appointed as an FAA Consultant in Neuropsychology by the Federal Air Surgeon in 2019. He is also a consultant to the Delaware Division of Developmental Disabilities Services and Princeton University. He holds faculty appointments in Psychiatry at USUHS and the Department of Neurology (Psychology) at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
	Cameron McCue, JD, supports clients through complex business litigation and compliance work with a primary focus on the healthcare industry. His experience includes all phases of litigation—ranging from administrative appeals and discovery to pre-trial motions and trial preparation. Cameron draws on significant inside exposure to litigation strategy through his past experience in federal court and ongoing client work, giving him a strong foundation for managing complex disputes and preparing cases for successful resolution. Drawing on a background in public policy and direct experience working alongside leadership at some of Idaho’s largest healthcare companies, Cameron delivers legal advice grounded in both regulatory depth and real-world operational insight. He also has substantial experience with state procurement law, including major public contracting and administrative appeals. Cameron’s clients include hospitals, provider groups, payers, public institutions, and corporations of all sizes across a wide range of industries. He closely monitors emerging developments in case law, legislation, and administrative rulemaking, providing forward-looking legal risk assessments that help clients make confident, informed decisions. Before joining Holland & Hart, Cameron clerked for Chief Judge Roberto Lange in the US District Court for the District of South Dakota.
	Dr. Glen Veed is a licensed clinical psychologist with a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. For over fifteen years, he has specialized in evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety disorders, OCD, and autism. Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Veed has been an educator at the undergraduate and graduate levels since 2019, most recently focusing on training master's-level counselors. Since 2023, he has brought his clinical expertise into organizational leadership as clinical manager for Prosper Health, a telehealth startup company dedicated to providing diagnostic evaluations and neuroaffirming therapy to Autistic adults. During his tenure, Prosper Health has grown from serving clients in 6 states to 22, reflecting both the need for and impact of accessible, affirming autism care. Dr. Veed is passionate about bridging research and clinical practice in service of the neurodiverse community.

CONTINUING EDUCATION INFORMATION

This continuing education event is intended for post-doctorate-level psychologists; however, other licensed health and mental health care providers and psychology students are welcome to attend. This event is sponsored by the Idaho Psychological Association. The Idaho Psychological Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Idaho Psychological Association maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Psychologists
A total of 10.5 continuing education (CE) credits (4.5 in ethics) are available for full attendance of this two-day event. Full attendance on Friday will earn 5.5 CE credits (2.5 in ethics); full attendance on Saturday will earn 5.0 CE credits (2.0 in ethics). CE credit may also be earned on a session-by-session basis. The credit available for each individual session is listed on the SCHEDULE above.

Other health/mental health professionals
This conference provides a total of 10.5 contact hours for full attendance. Attendance letters will be provided. Contact your board of professional association for your specific CE requirements.

PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS: This activity will be held in-person only. Continuing education credits are awarded to participants who attend sessions in their entirety. Comfort/lunch breaks are noted on the SCHEDULE above. A brief grace period of up to 10% of full session time (e.g., 6 minutes for a 1-hour session) with a maximum of 20 minutes for longer sessions (e.g., 20 minutes for a 6-hour session) may be applied. CE credit(s) will be provided only to individuals who sign-in upon arrival, attend entire sessions and sign-out upon departure.
